Guild Command Structure
Guild Command Structure and Job Descriptions All Members regardless of position within the guild are expected to uphold the guild standards of Honor, Companionship, and Fair-Play. We are committed to providing an example to the gaming community through our actions. Our members are expected to display these core values coupled with Respect, Maturity, and Consideration to anyone we may interact with in game. All Positions below are to be performed with Professionalism, Courtesy, and Maturity by responsible individuals. GUILD LEADER: The Guild Leader’s responsibility is to provide direction to the guild, ensuring the guild is moving forward in all aspects of the game. S/He is responsible for:
All Officers are expected to act as the guild leader would in his/her absence regarding enforcing the rules and providing guidance on guild-related issues. Officers are expected to front questions/criticisms/suggestions and if they fall under their respective departments they are expected to act upon them as necessary, or to bring them to the attention of the correct Officer and/or the Guild Leader. Each Officer will be expected to fulfill their job duties or to delegate as necessary in their absence. CAPTAINS All Captains are expected to enforce the guild rules and provide guidance on guild-related issues for their respective departments. Captains are expected to front questions/criticisms/suggestions and if they fall under their respective departments they are expected to act upon them as necessary, or to bring them to the attention of the correct Officer or Guild Leader if required. Each Captain will be expected to fulfill their job duties or to delegate as necessary in their absence.
* Raid: This role will be expected to schedule raid events to meet the guild’s needs. They will be expected to know/learn all the boss strategies these teams will encounter and to explore new strategies as needed. They will be capable of balancing a group for the intended instance, fairly distribute the loot per our loot rules, and know the requirements for each class. They will appoint a trained individual to each event scheduled if s/he cannot attend. At least one raid event should occur every week. There will be two types of teams:
o Farming Team: For experienced members to participate in a fast-paced run * PVE: Responsible for scheduling events based on member needs to complete quests and/or grind reputation with non-raiding instances. At least one event per week should occur. Personnel:The officer who leads this area is expected to know and understand the guild rules on a very deep level. Must be able to teach these values to others and have strong written and verbal communication skills. S/He will be responding to questions/complaints/suggestions from all stations within the guild. S/He is responsible for recruitment captains. Duties include:
* Ensure all applicants meet the guild requirements before admittance * Ensure initiates are trained in guild values and rules * Evaluate initiates for membership status * Monitor progression on tasks and tests to maintain initiation time lines * Get involved with initiate/sponsor when needed to encourage progression * Provide mediation for members and handle complaints. The ability to deal with high emotions in a professional and compassionate manner is required for success * Manage applications and user accounts on the guild website * Work with Communications to maintain the membership database on the back of the boards to reflect current guild member status and correct user names * Post membership polls and handle results accordingly * Promotions/Demotions Responsibilities may be divided into the following positions: PR/Advertising: Must have the ability to be a fair judge of character as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsible for:
· Dealing with social issues, complaints, and questions · Promotions · Training initiates in guild rules and values · Monitoring member behavior in and out of the guild · Liaison between initiates and sponsors · Following up with initiates and sponsors regarding initiate progression · Grading FAQ tests
· Following tasks progress on applications and giving input to other recruitment staff as necessary · Verifying applications are filled out correctly · Setting up polls · News announcements for new members · Managing initiate accounts on the website:
o Promotions/Demotions o Keeping track of who leaves the guild and moving their account to Honored Guest Communications: The officer who leads this aspect is responsible for the guild website and other communication tools (eg: Ventrilo) in all aspects. Responsibilities for this area may be delegated to captains as needed. They are responsible for:
* Performing upgrades/maintenance as needed to website and tools * Ensuring the guild has all the web tools they need for each department * Keeping the Guild Leader informed of any payments required for these services * Periodic clean up of old posts * Moving posts placed in the incorrect area * Expanding forums per the guild’s needs * Implementing any changes required * Periodic maintenance of the website’s membership accounts. May require them to work with Recruitment to correctly determine current guild member status and user names * Moderating members/guests and posts
* Manage the guild bank; Sorting, organizing, selling/auctioning, fulfilling requests and handling inappropriate deposits * Work with Raid Leaders to ensure the raid bank is stocked with appropriate consumables * Hold fund raising events both in and out of game as needed to maintain guild tools and meet guild needs.
