I would like to put myself into the consideration for Raid Captain. I have a lot of experience raiding in MMO's and have led raids and guilds before (not on WoW, but on EQ and EQ2). I have always felt that the tanks/MT/OT should help lead as they are the ones who initiate fights and know first hand the strategies for positioning and timing etc. I also have patience and understanding of other roles such as healing and DPS which I beleive is helpful knowledge. The ability to be felxible is very helpful in raids as is it not about you, it is about the raid and its' success as a whole.

My name is Quiblin, and when I'm bigger, I want to be a Raid Captain!

Well, OK, I'm probably not getting any bigger. It's just a figure of speech anyway.

I would make a good raid captain because of my:

Communication: I am skilled at communicating with all sorts of people, whether via text or voice. I am able to explain complicated topics (such as some of the more difficult fights in the game) in different ways and actively listen to be aware of others' questions or concerns.

Persistence and Flexibility: I like to get things done, and I direct my attention to the task at hand. When I find that one course of action is failing, I turn my focus to what is preventing success, and I respond accordingly. If, after analysis, a fight appears impassable with the current group composition or gear level, then a solution will be considered accordingly.

Situational Awareness: I learn my role in fights and strategies quickly and I commit these patterns to reflex, allowing me to focus on the events of the raid as a whole. I am able to do my job in a raid while simultaneously warning others of what risks I see.

Enthusiasm for Learning: Although my first hand experience is limited to classes that I have played, I actively discuss the mechanics and abilities of different classes with those more knowledgeable than me to improve my understanding of how they fit in their combat roles. I also research and read actively on topics on which I am focused (such as common {or not so common} strategies to defeat raid bosses).

Conflict Resolution: I feel that I have had a few opportunities to demonstrate to the guild that I am committed to working and playing nicely together with others, and I am eager to be involved in helping others overcome any differences or misunderstandings that are in the way.

Personal Coaching: The success of a raid team depends on the skill, gear, and focus of its individual members. When I have constructive advice to give to a team member, I can provide it with kind empathy to encourage our players by illustrating their potential and helping them to attain it.
